Backhausdance

Firmly grounded in the textures of the earth, ten dancers take us on an expressive journey along trails and pathways in this new screen dance performance created during the pandemic. Steeped in choreographer Jennifer Backhaus’s detailed and meticulously sculpted contemporary style, this dance strings together unique solos, celebrating the magical spirit of nature. Grounded was choreographed and set in the autumnal, coastal landscape of the Orange County Back Bay in Newport Beach, CA, with music, Limestone and Felt, composed by Caroline Shaw for cello and viola.

“A fluid, unforced fusion of classical and contemporary dance.”
