Third Annual Family Fun Day featuring Aga-Boom
Join us for the third annual McCallum Theatre Family Fun Day with a variety of food and family-friendly games and activities in front of the Theatre beginning at noon, followed by a performance at 2:30pm by Aga-Boom — a unique style of theatrical clowning that combines the unbridled silliness of slapstick and the humor of physical comedy with theatrical expressionism, poetry and the European avant-garde. The purchase of a ticket includes admission to all family fun activities.

Proceeds from the McCallum Family Fun day benefit learning and community outreach activities of the McCallum Theatre Institute, the educational division of the Theatre.

Mummenschanz
Now in its 43rd season, Swiss mask theater troupe Mummenschanz has pioneered a new form of visual theater that has since spawned multiple new genres reclaiming their legacy. Formed by founding members Andres Bossard, Floriana Frassetto and Bernie Schürch, Mummenschanz has since inspired generations of show-goers across five continents over four decades. The 'stories' told are unique in that they have no sound or music; the language of Mummenschanz is universal. In the wordless universe of Mummenschanz, the ordinary becomes extraordinary when common materials, everyday objects (like toilet paper) and colorful abstract shapes and forms like the famous "Clay Masks," "Slinky Man" and "Giant Hands" spring to life. By creating a playful yet compelling experience through the inventive use of shadow, light, and creative manipulation of objects, Mummenschanz offers timeless insight on the human condition. The result is a visually stunning spectacle of that transcends cultural barriers and sparks the imagination.

American heads out to sea, etiquette and convention get tossed out the portholes as two unlikely pairs set off on the course to true love…proving that sometimes destiny needs a little help from a crew of singing sailors, an exotic disguise and some good old-fashioned blackmail. The New York Times raves, "THIS ZESTY AND EFFERVESCENT NEW PRODUCTION FEATURES A DELUXE CANDY BOX OF COLE PORTER'S BEST SONGS," including "I Get a Kick out of You," "You're the Top," "It's De-lovely," and of course, "Anything Goes."

A John Waters Christmas
John Waters (Pink Flamingos, Hairspray, A Dirty Shame) performs an unforgettable night of holiday mischief with his critically acclaimed one man show, A John Waters Christmas. Waters pokes fun at the holiday season with adult-appropriate humor, effectively "putting the X in Xmas." This show is decidedly for die-hard Waters fans, the open minded and those with more than a slightly off-center sense of humor. "It's my obsession with Christmas: what I want for Christmas, what you should want, and how to handle every holiday disaster," he says. Come, if you dare, and let "The Pope of Trash" give you a Joyeaux Noel like no other.

After her triumphant McCallum Theatre debut with Renee Fleming, Susan Graham is back for a solo recital. Susan Graham — dubbed "America's favorite mezzo" by Gramophone magazine — rose to the highest echelon of international artists within just a few years of her professional debut, mastering an astonishing range of repertoire and genres along the way. Graham won a Grammy Award for her collection of Ives songs, and her recital repertoire is so broad that 14 composers from Purcell to Sondheim are represented on her most recent album, Virgins, Vixens, and Viragos; as the UK's Sunday Times noted: "It's hard to think of another contemporary singer who could pull off the tour de force Graham achieves here, with numbers ranging over a period of almost 300 years."

Hershey Felder as George Gershwin Alone
In George Gershwin Alone — which won Ovation Awards for Best Actor in a Musical (Hershey Felder) and Best Musical — the internationally acclaimed actor, playwright and Steinway concert artist Hershey Felder renders an intimate portrait of the legendary composer that provides a personal glimpse into Gershwin's early years, his personal life and his artistic genius. The evening is packed with many of Gershwin's most famous pieces, including "I Got Rhythm," "Someone to Watch Over Me," and of course, "Rhapsody in Blue." The first popular composer to use jazz as the foremost musical element in the serious concert hall, George Gershwin absorbed the musical styles, rhythms and sophistication of the American spirit and created a musical language that made its mark on both classical and popular music throughout the world. Hershey Felder brings to life the essence of the legendary composer and pianist, leading audiences through the fascinating rhythms of Gershwin's legendary songbook, while telling the tale of his tragically short life.

Lang Lang, piano
Heralded as the "hottest artist on the classical music planet" by The New York Times, Lang Lang has played sold-out concerts in every major city in the world and is the first Chinese pianist to be engaged by the Vienna, Berlin and New York Philharmonic orchestras. Time magazine named Lang Lang in the "Time 100," citing him as a symbol of the youth of China and its future. And if the Chinese passion for piano isn't solely due to him, he has played no small part as a role model — a phenomenon coined by The Today Show as "the Lang Lang effect."
